FedEx Tracking

FedEx tracking numbers — what they are, and where they actually work.

24hTrack is a free lookup site, not FedEx. We don't sell or deliver parcels — we show you the scans the carrier has published.

A large share of FedEx numbers pasted here come back blank. Measured over the last 30 days, roughly a third reached a status on this page. A blank result is not evidence the parcel is lost — it means no scan has reached us for that number. fedex.com is the authoritative place to check a FedEx number; when a number does report here, the full scan list comes with it.

What is FedEx?

FedEx Corporation describes its own business as providing “high-value-added logistics, transportation, and related end-to-end business services through a fully integrated digital and physical network”, and says it delivers “to many U.S. residences every day of the week”. Most people meet it through one of its shipping networks rather than the parent company: the air and international express network, the ground parcel network, and the freight business for pallets and heavy goods.

Nearly every FedEx number people bring to this page is twelve digits with no letters at all. That matters because a twelve-digit string is easy to confuse with an order number from the shop, and because FedEx also issues longer numbers on some ground and freight services — so if the number you were given is much longer or contains letters, check with the sender that it is the FedEx parcel number and not an internal reference.

If a FedEx number reports nothing here, the next step is fedex.com with the same number, and then the seller. A number that is live on fedex.com but blank here is worth nobody's panic — the parcel is moving either way, and nothing about an empty tracking page changes where the box is.

Ships for: US online retailers shipping express and ground parcels, International senders using the air express network, Businesses shipping pallets and heavy goods on the freight network

Tracking number format: Almost always twelve digits and no letters; some ground and freight services use longer numbers

Typical delivery time: For FedEx numbers that do report here, a parcel still in transit when you first track it reaches a delivered scan a median of about 2 days later, and 80% within about 6 days — the quickest median of any large carrier measured on this platform. Those numbers carry about eleven scans each, so once a FedEx number is live the detail is good.

FedEx shipments tracked on the 24hTrack platform average 15.6 tracking events per shipment. See full carrier statistics →

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my FedEx tracking number show nothing here?

Because no scan has reached us for that number. It happens on a large share of FedEx numbers — about two in three, measured over the last month — and it says nothing about where your parcel is. Put the same number into fedex.com, which is the authoritative source for a FedEx shipment. If it is live there, your parcel is fine; if it is blank there too, the label exists but the parcel has not been collected yet, and the sender is the one who can move it.

What does a FedEx tracking number look like?

Almost every FedEx number brought to this page is twelve digits with no letters. FedEx also issues longer numbers on some ground and freight services. If what you have contains letters, or is far shorter or longer than twelve digits, it is more likely to be the shop's order reference than the FedEx number — ask the seller for the one FedEx issued.

Is my parcel lost if the tracking page is empty?

No. An empty tracking page means no scan has arrived, not that a box has gone missing. The two ordinary explanations are that the label was printed but the parcel has not been handed over yet, or that the scan simply has not reached this page. Neither is a reason to open a claim. Check fedex.com first, then ask the sender when it was actually collected.

How long does a FedEx parcel take?

Measured here, a FedEx parcel that is still moving when you first track it is delivered a median of about 2 days later, with 80% inside about 6 days. That is the fastest median of the large carriers measured on this platform, and it reflects how much of FedEx's volume is express rather than economy.

Do I need an account to check a FedEx number here?

No. Paste the number and whatever scans exist are shown free, with no sign-up. An account only helps if you are following several parcels at once and want them kept in a list that updates itself.
