On its own site Asendia says it delivers to over 200 countries and territories through final-mile delivery partners, operating 17 subsidiaries and 32 locations across four continents. Its parcel products are branded e-PAQ (e-PAQ International, e-PAQ Domestic and e-PAQ Returns), and Asendia USA also runs mail, marketing mail and order fulfilment for senders shipping out of the United States.
Asendia sells to retailers and publishers rather than to shoppers, so if you are holding an Asendia number, the store you ordered from chose Asendia. The important consequence is in the shape of the journey: Asendia's job is the border crossing, not usually your doorstep. A parcel is collected, consolidated, flown, cleared through customs, and then handed to the post or courier that serves your address. Two quiet stretches are normal and neither means the parcel is lost. The first is between the seller handing the parcel over and Asendia's first scan. The second, and the longer one, is the international leg: during the flight and customs clearance nobody physically touches the parcel, so there is nothing to scan and the page can sit still for several days. Updates resume once the parcel reaches the destination country. It is a handover scan, written with the word “delivered” because, from Asendia's point of view, it has delivered the parcel to its partner. Expect the next real movement to come from that local carrier, usually within a day or two. This wording causes a lot of unnecessary worry, so it is worth reading the location on the event: a sorting centre or depot is a handover, your town is a delivery.
